Placement test

In order to ensure that all students are placed in the proper level, all new Adult students, who have some knowledge of the French language, are required to start with our French Entrance Test available on our website. Students who have not studied with us for 6 months or more are also required to take our French Entrance Test.
Children are not required to take an entrance test; Ecole Napoléon will know their level from the information provided. Ecole Napoleon knows the French level in the public and other schools in Canada.

Waiting list

If the class at your level is full, students can request to be placed on the waiting list. Ecole Napoleon will contact you as soon as there is an opening.

Course Cancellations & Changes

École Napoléon reserves the right to cancel classes and workshops, adjust the curriculum, and to change teachers during sessions, if necessary, without advanced notice. Courses are typically cancelled due to insufficient enrollment, unavailability of an instructor, or inability to schedule appropriate instructional space. If your course is cancelled, you will be notified by telephone or E-mail and given other options or a full refund.

Class Cancelation

Courses with fewer than four students will be cancelled. Students may have to choose private or semi-private courses instead. In the event that the class is cancelled, Ecole Napoleon will offer students the option of 1) transferring to another class, or waiting for a future upcoming class, 2) obtaining a full refund.

Absence & Make-up classes

Students who were absent for 2 classes or more, will have to take make-up classes in order to reach the superior level. For this purpose, individual classes are available upon demand at a reduced price of $50.00 an hour for an individual, and $65.00 per hour for two to three students.

Students are not permitted to substitute a missed class with another class offered in a similar course during the week.

Scheduled and finalized make-up classes cannot be rescheduled or refunded.

Student’s Code of Conduct

Students are asked to not eat food during the class. Phones should be placed in silent mode and no personal phone calls are permitted during the class (except for emergency situations).

In order to have an enjoyable and productive teaching environment, students are asked to respect other student’s space and not to interrupt while others are speaking.

To avoid Conflicts of Interest

All École Napoléon’s teachers and students must avoid behavior that creates an actual or potential conflict of interest, and avoid any situation that may present the appearance of a conflict of interst.

All students are requested  to avoid asking teacher’s personnal contact information or to request their services outside of our school.

Please note that École Napoléon records all the classes in our location to avoid any conflict, to protect the students and the staff. All the recordings are kept excusively secured and never shared with third parties.

Full payment for all courses has to be done by e-transfer, cash, or cheque payable to École Napoléon at our location.  In some classes the teaching materials (like books, exercise books…etc) are not included in these fees and have to be added to the course price.

A $25 surcharge will be levied on all non-sufficient-fund cheques.

If the student decides to terminate their studies, he or she needs to inform the School’s administration. École Napoléon will refund the amount of fees corresponding to the number of courses that were not given, on the basis of the fees charged per hour. An administration fee of 15% will be deducted from the total reimbursement.

No refund will be given after the first class/week of class.
